1) The only avatar I have ever had might be this thing on face. They have different applications that make you design your own person or simulated person and play a virtual reality game with it. This game is called Sorority Life. I have played with a few times but I really don't like it that much.
2) I really do not forward anything in general but if I do it through text messaging. Also I don't really talk to my friends using email, I just text them. When I am checking my email it’s basically just to find out if I should pay any bills, or any discounts in certain stores that I have accounts in.
3) I used to have a MySpace in high school but since then I use face book. I love face book to chat with my friends, and send messages to old ones to ketch up. Also to "creep" as others would like to put it. I don’t not have kids currently but if I did I would have tons of restrictions put on face book. For me though I do not share personal information that could harm me.
4) When I am checking out when shopping I don’t mind giving my name, I never had to do that, but I don’t think I would mind. As for a phone number, I am beginning to worry about that more and more because of technology now a day, but if I shop there a lot and I know its safe then I will give it to them for discounts. I do give out my email address but to other certain shores that I shop at a lot. I do not give away my address, there is no reason for them to know that and that goes the same for my zip code.
5) I feel that Bentham is way ahead of his time, because this is a lot like how the internet is. It's a lot like how the internet is in a way that you are able to put up anything you want, make up things, post things, but you never know how someone else will react to it, or interpret it. I bet people back then thought he was crazy when he talked about his philosophies.
6) Throughout my life I think I bought a total of 5 things through the internet. A couple of bathing suits from Victoria secrets, just because they didn’t sell that in the store, and I also bought my Mac book pro laptop computer over the summer, so I could get a good price on it. Currently I don’t think I ever got ripped off. My laptop works great, and it came with a warranty incase something did go wrong. I really don’t have a favorite place to shop online, but I do look on the American eagle website a lot.
7) We should filter out sites on the internet, because now a day things are posted that shouldn’t be allowed to view. We should go even to extremes and block websites, and I believe you can set that on your computer. The sites that support angst, rape, neo-Nazi, pornography, etc. should be banned. As readers, we can choose to disregard the angry sites if we wish. Not everyone has to hold "civility and scholarly ideals."
8) I have only browsed the notes in the back. The only thing I checked out is the flamer’s bible reference. To be honest have not looked at the list of web pages at the end of the book. I think she may be using MLA format as her documentation style but I am not sure why.
